The most significant increases occurred on the opening day of the meeting, with an increase of £30,000 (€42,900) in the opening race of the meeting, the John Smith’s Liverpool Hurdle and an added £10,000 (€14,300) in the 2.35pm John Smith’s Bowl Steeplechase (formerly the Betfair Bowl), the 4:20 PM John Smith’s Red Rum Handicap Steeple Chase and the final race on the card, the 5:30 PM John Smith’s No Nonsense Handicap Hurdle.

Prize money on the second day of the meeting saw a £35,000 boost with the John Smith’s Topham Steeplechase seeing a £10,000 (€14,300) boost in prize money.

Prize money on John Smith's Grand National day rose to £1,285,000 (€1,837,550) with the John Smith's Extra Smooth Handicap hurdle having increased by £10,000 to £60,000 (€85,800) and the John Smith’s Extra Cold Handicap Hurdle up £10,000 to £60,000 (€85,000) in 2008.
