Wimbledon Tennis Betting – And Then There Were Four

Wimbledon is one of those tournaments that never fails to provide surprises. We have seen the rise and fall of young Bernard Tomic, finally ending his run at the hand of Novak Djokovic. At the same time, crowd favourite Roger Federer saw his stay in the tournament come to an end with Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga doing what no one has ever done before – come from two sets down to defeat the great Federer in a Grand Slam event.

On the other side of the draw, the action was a little less tame with Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal both moving through to the semi-finals with relatively easy wins. Those semi-finals will be interesting. Murray is on a roll having won at Queens and having an easy run through to the finals so far. Nadal is all class but he has struggled at times – he is also suffering some foot problems and wouldn’t want to face a five setter before the final.

Djokovic will play Tsonga and this will be a match worth watching. Djokovic has only lost one match this year while Tsonga looks to be hitting his form – and he has a big powerful serve when his radar’s working well. Online bookmakers have Djokovic at 8/15 to win – they’re fairly short odds all things considered. Tsonga at 19/10 looks to be a good value bet and he may be able to blast his way past Djokovic.

In the other semi-final, Nadal is also favourite at 8/15 while Murray is 15/8 – we’re sticking with Murray and those odds are well worth chasing.

Nadal has moved to 13/10 outright favourite to win the tournament with Djokovic and Murray both at 9/2 while Tsonga is at 15/2. We’re tipping a Murray-Djokovic final – a good bet at 3/1. With our luck in betting, the final will most likely be between Nadal and Tsonga. You can back that at 7/2.
