There seems to be golf on offer all over the place this weekend. In Australia there is the Australian PGA Championship; in South Africa there is the Alfred Dunhill Championship; the Johnnie Walker Open in Cambodia; and the Shark Shootout event in Florida. Of the four events, the Shark Shootout looks to be the more entertaining and from a betting perspective, offering the best betting odds.

The Shark – aka Greg Norman, hosts this event annually where he joins 23 other golfers in a range of tournament plays.  This year Greg Norman is teamed with Matt Kuchar and bookmakers have only given them a 25/1 chance of winning. The team of Dustin Johnson and Ian Poulter have emerged from the pack as favourites at 7/2 ahead of the interesting combination of Bubba Watson and Rickie Fowler at 11/2.

This event is always interesting as it involves stroke play, celebrity guests, a pro-am tournament and golfers generally having fun in a serious way – yes, they are still trying to win – but they are having fun along the way. A tip – don’t discard Norman, he displayed some good form during the Australian Open last week.

In the Australian PGA, Allenby looks to be running hot. His first two rounds weren’t great but winning form is good form. Local hero Adam Scott could be a surprise from back in the field while Adam Bland and John Senden are at good betting odds and worth following.  Bland at 5/1 is our tip in an even contest.

In South Africa, we have another even contest with Charl Schwartzel favourite at 11/2. Robert Rock has been the runner up in this event two years running and he looks to be in good form for this event. At 15/2 he is also good value, especially for those willing to take the reduced each way odds.  There’s golf everywhere – the top players are taking a break so that is leaving us with some great betting odds. You just have to pick the right players.
