Stoke Good Value In Betting Odds

This weekends football looks to be fairly ordinary when first looked at. However, with a little thought I think there are some good value bets to be had. Stoke are a good example. They host Spurs tomorrow and at first glance, you would probably tip Spurs to win. I’m not so sure that game is as cut and dried as it seems.

Stoke have an impressive home record in recent years holding many of the top teams to at least draws, if not sending them home with no points. Spurs have played well but do not strike as being a top three team as yet. They also played midweek which doesn’t help matters. At 13/5, Stoke could be a good value bet. Bookmakers are obviously a little wary of this game posting Spurs at 5/4 rather than odds on. The draw at 12/5 is also worth some thought. Our tip – back Stoke and the draw, either way you’ll come out in front.

In other games:

Arsenal (2/11) should be far too strong for Blackpool (18/1)
Birmingham (13/10) and Blackburn (12/5) have both had good starts to the season – we tip the draw at 23/10.
Everton (8/13) should be too strong for Wolves (7/1)
West Bromwich (6/4) are at home but I expect Sunderland (2/1) to sneak home with the points
Hammers (13/10) host Bolton (12/5) in what should be an interesting tussle – West Ham at home – just.
Wigan (14/1) host Chelsea (1/4) and while home ground advantage is important, it’s hard to see them holding out the visitors – Chelsea by a couple.

On Sunday, Newcastle (23/10) are good value against a visiting Aston Villa (7/5). Villa played mid-week and are still a little unsettled following the departure of their manager. Newcastle to open their account for the season.

The second game on Sunday sees Fulham (11/2) hosting Manchester United (8/13). The host had a great season last year and I expect them to make a real game of this. We’re tipping a hard fought draw at 3/1. Remember, early season games often spring surprises.

On Monday, we have the game of the round with Manchester City (11/8) hosting Liverpool (23/10). Both played mid week and Liverpool still don’t look settled. City look to be good value at 11/8 so grab it while you can – I’m surprised they’re not a touch of odds on actually. that’s the football for the weekend, happy punting and good luck.
