Spread Betting Tells The Story For Fourth Spot

The race is really on in earnest for that coveted fourth place on the Premiership Table with the riches of the Champions League the reward. There are four teams battling for that last place and a quick look at spread betting tables makes for an interesting read. Let’s look at the four left fighting out for that 4th placing.

Tottenham Hotspurs: Spurs are in the box seat at present but they don’t have everything their own way. They are on 64 points at present and this week travel to Manchester United.  Spread betting is currently showing a spread of 69.5 – 70.5. Effectively, bookmakers are expecting Spurs to win two of their last three. In straight out betting they are 4/5 favourites to stay in 4th place.

Manchester City: City are two points behind Spurs on 62 points and spread betting is predicting a finish of  68 – 69.  They don’t have it easy this weekend either with a trip to highflying Arsenal on the cards for this weekend. The prediction is that they will win two of their last three and perhaps draw against Arsenal this weekend. City are 5/4 in straight out betting to finish 4th.

Aston Villa: Villa seem to be the forgotten team in the equation to date. Their form hasn’t been great of late but they have been hanging in. They have a game in hand on the rest; that game to be played tomorrow against relegation bound Hull. A win will see them three behind Spurs on 61 points. They are currently on 58 and spread betting is predicting a season ending spread of 64.5 – 65.5.  This is one spread that is screaming out to be backed. This is predicting only two wins and a draw before the end of the season. They play Hull tomorrow night then host Birmingham on Sunday – a possible 6 points for a total of 64 and still two games to play. Straight out betting has them at 16/1 to finish 4th.

Liverpool: They finished second last season but had a poor run and are now battling to gain ground on the other three. Their last three games seem to be the easier run home, however. Liverpool are on 59 and this weekend travel to Burnley. A difficult ask but not impossible. Spread betting is predicting them to finish the season with between 64 and 65 – that’s just two wins from their last three. Bookmakers have Liverpool at 22/1 to claim 4th spot.

There is no doubt that Spurs are in the box seat, however, they are by no means safe and the spread betting on Villa at present looks to be fairly attractive. Who do you think will claim 4th – Spurs, City, Villa or can Liverpool climb over all of them?
