Preview Of The Weekends Best Sports Betting Odds

Although the football season is still several weeks away, there is still plenty of sporting activity around us. Today we preview this weekends sport and take an early peak at what the online bookmakers are offering. Betting odds can be to your advantage if you bet early, especially if you are not backing favourites. EuroSportsBet has some competitive odds on all this weekends sports so check out their early betting odds.

A good example of early betting is Formula One. This weekend the racing is in Hockenheim for the German Grand Prix and the natural early favourite is the Red Bull home town hero, Sebastian Vettel. We will preview this race in full in Sunday’s post – for now, and early tip at good value could be Mark Webber at 9/2 through SportingBet. After practice sessions, don’t be surprised to see his odds firm after practice sessions.

There is not a lot going on when it comes to the various football codes. Down under, the Tri-Nations rugby tournament continues with South Africa trying to bounce back from last weekends loss to New Zealand. They play Australia in Brisbane, a venue they have struggled to win at in the past. Australia are 4/5 with South Africa priced at 6/5 – poor odds really for South Africa. ToteSport have the best odds for Australia at 10/11 and that’s our tip for this game.

In horse racing, Ascot features the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes tomorrow and both look to be great races. Form coming into these races is strong and while Workforce, this years Epsom winner, looks good, so too does Harbinger. You can back Harbinger at 5/2 or slightly better through StanJames if you get in early.

Looking at other events around the nation, the only other one to really stand out is the second cricket test being played between Pakistan and Australia. Because of the political situation in Pakistan, this series is being played here in England and proving to be a real arm wrestle. Pakistan grab and edge, then Australia fight back – it has been good cricket – although a nightmare for punters. After routing Australia for 88 in the first innings, Pakistan failed to capitalize and now Australia are in a position to gain some ascendancy.

Australia are again favourites at 10/11 to win with Pakistan at 5/4. It’s a narrow margin with Australia really at poor odds considering they are still trailing. Back Pakistan at 5/4 through BlueSquare and while you’re at it, back Australian captain Ricky Ponting to score his test ton – it probably wont be enough to save the Aussies, but it may save his skin!

That’s the weekend in sport along with some of the best early betting odds available.
