How To Play And Win At Sit’n'Go Poker

One of the most popular forms of poker is the online version of Texas Hold’em. There are several different types of game available, all following the same rules, but using different methods of entry. For example, there are open games where you enter a table with however much money you want to take in with you. You can then play and leave whenever it suits. One of the most popular games is the one called Sit’n'Go or SnG poker.

There are two versions of this style of poker. One version can be expensive in that you require a set amount to ‘buy’ into the game. Every player starts with that same amount and the last player standing takes the lot. This version is rarely played now having been taken over by the tournament style of play. In this version, you pay a set fee to ‘buy’ in – say, ten pounds – and you are given a fixed starting stake, normally 1,000 credits .

Sit’n'Go gets its name from the starting format of the table. Most tables have seats for either nine or ten players. As soon as every seat has been filled – the ’sit’ part of the name – play starts – the ‘go’. Play continues until there is only one player left – they are declared the winner. Unlike other forms of poker, prizes are often awarded for those that finish first, second, or third.

Winning at Sit’n'Go can be a little easier than some other tables. Because of the relative low cost to play, some players are quite rash and will go ‘all in’ early. This form of poker is ’survivor’ based. The longer you can stay in the game, the more chances you have to win. Therefore, being cautious early can see you playing in the last three or four – that’s when you can become a little more aggressive. When it comes to online poker, Sit’n'Go is one of the fastest and most exciting forms and what makes it attractive is the low buy-in prices – some as low as one pound.
