There are many reasons for playing online games and, for many people, it is to have a bet. For others, it is just for fun and that’s a pretty healthy approach. You can profit from playing online games, but few do in the long run. This doesn’t mean that online games are bad. It’s all about perspective.
If I was to go out to the West End and enjoy a meal, a few drinks and a live show, I would be come home with little change from a couple of hundred pounds. If I cut my tastes back and go to the football game and grab some Macca’s on the way home, it’s still going to cost me fifty or sixty quid. The alternative, I could sit at home with a bottle of home brew and spend the same amount of money playing online games. (And I won’t get mugged coming home either!)
As I said, it’s a matter of perspective. In that situation, yes, I may spend £50 playing these online games and I may walk away at the end of the session will little to show for it, but then I have had that same entertainment value as a game of football or a West End show. I could also walk away with a profit.
I am not in anyway trying to justify gambling as such. However, those that condemn online games as a waste of money need to consider that entertainment factor. Personally, I would rather go and watch Chelsea take on United – but let’s face it, that only happens a few times each year. Instead, a lazy night at home playing online games will do just for a change – let’s just keep it all in perspective.
