Online bookmakers have made Chelsea and Manchester United favourites in their midweek clashes this week, and deservedly so. However, these really are dangerous games. The question is, are you prepared to take the risks. The rewards are great if they pay off.
Manchester United take to the road and visit seventh place Aston Villa. Don’t be fooled by Villa’s position, they are only one win away from being in equal fourth spot. In fact, a home win today could achieve just that if other results go their way – and that is quite likely.
The other point to consider is that United have not been brilliant away from home so they may well struggle tonight and with online bookmakers offering 10/11 on United and 4/1 on Villa with the draw at 5/2, I suggest a wager on a Villa victory with a saver on the draw.
Chelsea are not in for an easy match either and they too have struggled away from home in recent times. They make the trip to Everton who seem to be regaining form since Christmas. Online bookmakers have Chelsea shorter than United at 8/11 with Everton well priced at 9/2 and the draw at 11/4.
I find it difficult to trust Chelsea away from home. They should win but Everton are looking reasonably good at home and at 9/2, good prices. This is one game that I would be tempted to sit out. At their best, Chelsea should win but they are not at their best.
Online bookmakers set odds according to how you and I bet. In these two matches, the majority of the money has come in for United and Chelsea – however, that doesn’t mean they are right. If pushed for a bet, I would take the online bookmakers on and back the home team to win with the draw as a saver bet.
