This weekend’s football looks to be interesting, especially after some of the player movements this week. There are a couple of games where you could almost chalk in the winners names now, however, there are several that will make for great betting opportunities. Here’s our summary of the best betting games along with the latest football betting odds.
Wolves (12/5) at home to Liverpool (13/8) – Wolves may be sitting second last on the table, but Liverpool are not that much higher. The Reds have an appalling eight losses on the road while Wolverhampton have had impressive victories against Chelsea and Manchester City at home. Those odds of 12/5 are just too good to pass given those two records.
Blackpool (17/10) at home to Sunderland (15/8) - Sunderland have lost Darren Brent to Villa in a midweek transfer that will really hurt them on the pitch. Blackpool have a great home record and come into this game having beaten Sunderland on their turf just last month. Sunderland may come out hard just to prove they can do without Brent. Blackpool are the league’s most under-rated team. We’re tipping the draw at 12/5.
Everton (8/15) at home to West Ham (13/2) – Everton’s record at home is terrible this season with only one win from their last five. They are also without key striker Tim Cahill who is away playing the Asian Cup for Australia. West Ham are last on league table, yet they have had some surprise results in recent weeks. We suggest you back the Hammers to win at 13/2 and take a saver on the draw at 10/3.
Fulham (5/4) at home to Stoke (13/5) – This match is quite tricky with both sides having a rather ordinary time of late. Last season I would have jumped on Fulham and made them a special – this season, they are just a shadow. Stoke are impressive at home but on the road are totally unpredictable. At 13/5, Stoke are probably a little over the odds and do represent value. Given their record, however, this is either a no-bet game, or back-the-draw at 12/5 – those are the better value betting odds in this game.
A few surprises in those tips, but then, form does suggest those results. In the remaining games, we don’t see any reason to bet against the bookmakers’ favourites. although in some cases the betting odds are too short to worry about.
