Football Betting – Can Chelsea Turn Their Season Around?

Chelsea seem to be going through a horror period both on and off the field having suffered a pasting at home against Arsenal last weekend then a very weak draw against Genk mid-week. Add to that the off-field drama surrounding John Terry and you have a club that is badly in need of some good news. They travel to lowly Blackburn today in a game that you could normally bank on taking away three points. Bookmakers think they can quote them at 8/15 to win. This will be an interesting game where a loss could well define Chelsea’s season.

The English Premier League table is quite congested with six teams within a win of each other. Chelsea are hanging on to 4th on 19 points level with Spurs and only a point ahead of Liverpool. If Chelsea lose today, they could potentially fall back to 7th, and with games against Liverpool and Newcastle on the horizon, that’s not a great place to be. While all the talk is on Chelsea, there are two teams taking the pitch today.

Blackburn are sitting down in the relegation zone with only six points to show for their season, and a lot of pressure on their manager’s shoulders. In their favour, they have been scoring goals, seven in their last two games – unfortunately, their defense has let in more. The Rovers are at 6/1 in Premier League betting to win today with the draw at 7/2. We’re tipping a goal feast today and backing a 3-3 draw.

In other matches today, unbeaten Newcastle (13/10) should be too good for the unpredictable Everton (27/11); Arsenal (4/9) should continue on their winning way against West Brom (8/1); Aston Villa (10/11) may find Norwich (18/5) too strong – we’re tipping an upset win to the Canaries; Liverpool (4/11) victors over Swansea City (10/1); Manchester United (2/7) with an easy game against Sunderland (14/1); and QPR (9/1) should struggle against a well oiled Manchester City (3/8).
