Football Betting – Is It Time To Write Off Chelsea?

Chelsea’s season seems to be going from indifferent to downright bad, and their poor form was clearly reflected in their mid-week loss to Bayer Leverkusen. That game was theirs for the taking, especially after leading 1-0. However, to miss so many opportunities while letting in two goals tells the tale of a team that is disorganized and not really committed on the field. It’s going to be hard to back them at any level on their current form, and that includes home games against lesser opponents.

If you’re a punter, you could do well backing the opposition and draws at this point in the season. They will come good, and it’ll probably only take one good game and they’ll be back on track, the question is, which game will that be. This weekend they host Wolverhampton and while bookmakers have them as 1/4, they won’t be seeing any of our money. This is a game where you can either leave your wallet in your pocket, or take the 14/1 on offer for Wolves and the 5/1 on offer for a draw. For the record, we’re tipping a draw.

There are some good value bets on offer this weekend. The first of those could be the inform Tottenham Hotspurs. They travel to West Brom and with Spurs being quoted at even money in football betting, surely worth a bet. If you enjoy statistics, Spurs have scored in the first half at each of their last eight games and have won all eight. In fact, they have won the half-time/full-time bet in six out of eight games – another good bet at around 2/1. We’re tipping Spurs to win with ease.

Villa could be worth a closer look this weekend. They travel to Bolton who are really struggling – easy pickings for a team looking to regain some form. Villa are good value at 7/5, especially given Bolton’s poor home record this year. You can back both Bolton and the draw at the draw atg 9/4, but we’re tipping Villa to win through.
