Football Betting – Let’s Strike While The Going’s Good

I hope you checked out our tips yesterday in the English Premier League – we hit two from two and they were both at excellent betting odds. Tipping the draw between Manchester United and Birmingham gave us a great return and the Blackpool win over Sunderland vindicated our statement that they are highly underrated. Can we do it again today?

There are only three games to look at today and while two look to be easy pickings, the third is not quite so easy to predict.  We’ll start with the two easy games and the first of these involve Arsenal traveling to Wigan for what should be a tough encounter. Wigan are hard to beat at home and come into this game unbeaten in their last three games. Arsenal on the other hand come into the game with an imposing record including a great win over Chelsea last time out. Arsenal’s betting odds are short at 8/15 and Wigan’s are quite long at around 7/1. We tip the Gunners to win 2-0 so backing them to win by two or more goals should improve the odds.

The late game today is between Liverpool and Wolves. Liverpool may feel rusty having not played a Premier League game for two weeks. Where ever they go it seems to get frozen out – not today. Liverpool are 1/3 in betting, too short to back straight out. We tip the home side to win 3-0 so back them to win with a margin of three or more – you’ll get odds of 13/8 or more and that represents better value.

Our final game for review is the Chelsea v Bolton tussle – and we think it will be a real arm wrestle. Chelsea are way down on form, they seem to lack confidence and rumors suggest that all may not be well behind closed doors. Bolton are another underrated side and have become one of the form teams of the competition. What is interesting is that Bolton can knock Chelsea out of the top five with a win today – more importantly, they can replace them at number five. The question today is who will be more desperate to win. Chelsea have lacked that desperation while Bolton seem to play a free natural style. Chelsea are at the ridiculous odds of 1/3 while Bolton are out to 10/1. The draw at 5/1 also looks appealing.

Following yesterday’s win, we can afford to back Bolton to win and the draw in this game. On the betting exchanges, you can back Chelsea to lose at best odds of 3/1. That’s too short given we can get around 7/1 by backing both the win and draw. It will certainly be an interesting game.
