Football Betting – Big Weekend For Punters

This weekend’s football looks to be the best of the season so far from a punter’s point of view. Arsenal are still trying to find form, Spurs will be looking to test Liverpool, while the late game on Sunday will be a pearler with Manchester United hosting Chelsea. When it comes to football betting, there are some interesting odds on offer, and perhaps a few surprises in store as well -after all, this is football.

The opening game of the weekend should get us of to a good start with bottom of the table Blackburn hosting a struggling Gunners outfit. To their credit, Arsenal appear to be building as they become accustomed to the loss of their top two players over the summer. Blackburn have been patchy, however, they are at home, and this will be their best opportunity to beat a top notch team. Bookmakers have Blackburn at 18/5 and Arsenal marginally in the red at 10/11. We’re tipping the draw at 13/5 with a little on a Blackburn win at good odds in what will probably be a scrappy game.

Villa and Newcastle have made fairly even starts to the season and their clash at Villa Park should be interesting. Bookmakers have Aston Villa at even money to win with Newcastle priced at 7/2. This will be a good game to watch, and probably a good game to catch some in-play betting action. We’re tipping Villa to win 1-0, and even money is good value given their form and the fact they are at home.

The home sides should prevail in today’s remaining games, however, the Swansea – West Bromwich game could go either way. We’re sticking with a home win, the first for Swansea in the Premier League this season.

Tomorrow, we are in for a treat. The day starts with Tottenham hosting Liverpool in the lunchtime game. Bookies don’t know who to make favourites for this game, with 13/8 the common odds for both. Spurs have had a lackluster start to the season but they are now starting to show some form. Liverpool have played well, although they don’t appear to have hit their potential yet. Spurs are hard to beat at home, however, given the form both have displayed, We’re tipping Liverpool to continue their winning way. The draw at 12/5 is also fairly tempting if you’re looking for good odds.

The last game of the day will have most football fans glued into their tv’s. Manchester United are 10/11 to defeat Chelsea (4/1), and while it’s hard for any team to win against United at home, don’t be surprised to see Chelsea in a winning position late in the game. United’s stikers are in rare form and they will be the difference – United to win in a great game.
