Football Betting – Bet In Play And Profit This Weekend

This weekends English Premier League looks to be a little trickier than normal so you may need to develop a smart betting plan in order to come out in front. Laying a few pre-game bets as a foundation is required and then following up with bets in play if circumstances change – and they normally do. If you don’t have an account with a betting exchange, I suggest you get one. You may even be able to make use of free matching bets to increase your profits.

Mid-week games together with a few good home ground advantages certainly give rise to some serious thoughts about betting against favourites. A good example is Sunderland at home against Manchester United. The Black Cats have a fairly good home record while United will once again be away from home. Bookmakers have Manchester United at 4/5 and Sunderland at 9/2.

While that game is being played, Spurs will host Villa in another game that could be interesting. Spurs are evens in betting while Villa are at the tempting odds of 3/1. Tottenham Hotspurs played mid week while Villa have had the chance to rest and prepare for this game.

On Sunday we have the top of the table clash with Chelsea hosting Arsenal. Chelsea showed a few kinks in their armour last weekend and if Arsenal can exploit them, they could make life interesting. Chelsea are 3/4 to win with Arsenal out to 9/2.

With those odds, I would be backing Arsenal to defeat Chelsea; Villa to defeat Spurs; and Sunderland to defeat United (you could also have savers and back the draws). Once the games have started, keep your eye on the scoreboard and the in play odds on your favourite betting exchange. If you selection is in front by half time, and playing well, you should find some decent odds available for their opponents.

A smart betting strategy could see you backing all three results and returning a small profit, no matter who wins or draws. Of course, the down side is, if your selection is getting thrashed by half time, then you have lost your bet. But then, you don’t have to risk so much at the odds available for these selections.
