Ferrari A Good Bet In Canadian Grand Prix

Ferrari look to be on track for their first Grand Prix win of the season following early practice for the Canadian Grand Prix. Bookmakers have Sebastian Vettel favourite at 15/8 despite having never won on the circuit and already having a minor accident this weekend. In fact, he has added his name to the famous Wall of Champions, an area on the track that most drivers greet at some stage in their careers.

Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa, both driving Ferraris, finished the day with the first and third fastest times – Vettel managed to squeeze one good lap in to sit between the Ferraris. The McLaren pair of Hamilton and Button were next best, both finding the circuit to be tricky given the new setup of their cars.

Vettel is favourite at 15/8 ahead of Hamilton at 5/2 and Alonso at 9/2. Alonso and Hamilton both have happy memories of this track and at 9/2, and with his car seeming to like the track, Alonso could be the best value bet for the season. Much will depend on the final qualifying sessions and whether or not he can claim a front row position. If he does, he could be hard to hold off.

In Drivers Championship outright betting, Vettel holds a good lead and bookmakers have him a short 1/4 to take out the title. The only other driver under double figures is Hamilton at 7/1 – you can write your own ticket for the rest of the field.

Our tip in Canada – we like Alonso to win; he’s good value and likes this track. Hamilton will be the biggest danger with Vettel always a threat – let’s face it, winning form is always good form.
