The Champions League T20 tournament is proving to be a lot more open than most punters originally thought with five teams still well fancied to take the tournament – and the winner could still come from outside that group. The Mumbai Indians are still favoured at 9/2 and they will be hard to beat, however, they will be hard pressed and the semi-finals will be interesting to watch, and interesting to bet on. In the meantime, there are the final pool games to be played, and Somerset are still in with a chance of making the finals if they can win their last pool game.
In today’s games, Cape Cobras are 8/11 to defeat Trinidad + Tobago (13/10) and on current form, this should be nothing more than a practice game for the Cobras. The game that should be interesting has Chennai (3/4) up against the well fancied New South Wales (6/5) side. It’s interesting to see Chennai favoured to win this game when they are unwanted in outright betting. At the same time, New South Wales are good odds today considering they are second favourites at 11/2 to win the tournament. We’re tipping New South Wales at good odds.
Tomorrow, the Warriors (10/11) take on Somerset (1/1) in a must win game for Somerset. The Warriors are 7/1 third favourites to win the tournament, so you would expect them to win this contest. It was disappointing to see Somerset capitulate so easily to Royal Challengers Bangalore. If they can lift themselves, then they may upset the fancied South Africans. As much as we’d like to tip Somerset, we have to go with form, and that favours the Warriors.
Bangalore (4/6) are a tough side when in form and they take on a rather disappointing South Australia (23/17). If Chris Gayle is on song again, you can write of the South Australians, he will blast their bowlers out of the park. Bangalore to win easily.
In outright betting, Bangalore at 8/1 are good value considering they are striking good form at the right end of the tournament. New South Wales are a risk at 11/2 while the Warriors do just enough to win. Mumbai deserve their favoured status having played well, however, we’re tipping Bangalore – they are playing well and they are great value in Champions League T20 betting.
