Online bookmakers have set fairly restrictive odds for this weekend’s round of the English Premier League. League heavyweights are at short prices, but that doesn’t mean they will have it all their own way. Given this week’s turmoil in the league, anything can happen.
Manchester United are short priced at home and fortunately they play the lightweight West Bromwich outfit, fresh from promotion. Rooney’s apparant war of words with team management could unsettle the side a little, but one would still expect a win for the home side. United are 2/7 with the visitors at 12/1. United to win.
Arsenal (1/3) at home should make light work of Birmingham (10/1), however, don’t expect Chelsea to have it all their own way against Aston Villa. Chelsea are the form team but they have been a little suspect away from home. Villa haven’t had a great start to the season, but at home could surprise. Villa are 17/4 with Chelsea 3/4 and the draw 14/5. We tip the draw.
Fulham are at home to Spurs and while Spurs have played well Fulham haven’t been slouches either. The home side has not quite found the same form as last season but they are working towards it. Fulham are 19/10 with Spurs 8/5 – we tip a home win in a tight game.
Bolton, Newcastle and Wolves should win their home clashes to round out today’s action. Tomorrow, there’s the exciting game between Everton and Liverpool. The Reds should know their fate by game time – look for this game to end in a tight draw. Tomorrow’s second game should see Manchester City account for Blackpool although City won’t find it easy away from home. Online bookmakers have City at 8/13 with the home side 5/1. We tip a City victory. Happy punting for the weekend.
