The Greyhound Derby is set for a great race at Wimbledon tomorrow night and the box draws have betting on this event rather interesting. Razldazl George has been everyone’s tip for quite some time, but jumping from 4 is going to be difficult, especially if there is a squeeze from Barefoot Bullet jumping out of 5.
Current betting odds favour Taylor’s Sky coming out of box 1. Bookmakers have made it a 15/8 favourite ahead of Barefoot Bullet at 11/4 and Razldazl George at 3/1. Westmead Guru will jump from 2 and is at 8/1 while the other two are at double figure odds.
It does look to be a race in three and Taylor’s Sky will make it difficult jumping from that important box 1. Like many greyhound races, this one could be won or lost at the start. If Razldazl George gets a good start and can rail early, then it may just have the finishing power over Taylor’s Sky. At 3/1, it certainly looks to be a value bet.
There will be a lot of interest in the Forecast and Tricast betting on this event. This is where the greyhounds at longer odds come into the picture. Westmead Guru coming from 2 may be able to take up a good position and could hang on for a minor placing, so don’t put it out of your calculations, especially if taking multiples.
The Greyhound Derby is the premier event on the greyhound racing calendar and with a prize purse of £75,000 for the winner, it is keenly sought after by greyhound owners. It’s also one of the premier greyhound betting events of the year with bookmakers taking in tens of thousands of pounds on this one event.
Our tip – we’ll stick with Razldazl George ahead of Taylor’s Sky with Westmead Guru good value for third.
