Betting Exchanges For Super League Value

Betting exchanges have one real advantage over traditional bookmakers. You can effectively bet on a person or team losing rather than winning. In effect, you become the bookmaker so you can wager on an outcome against another person. The annual Good Friday Super League round of rugby league has a number of potential good value bets on offer today, none more so than the Wigan-St Helens game.

St. Helens came into this game on the back of five consecutive wins in the Super League, and their recent history against Wigan shows three consecutive wins at Wigan. Of course, Wigan themselves are showing a lot of character this season with bookmakers making them outright favourites to win the Grand Final. Wigan are currently 10/21 to win today’s game with St. Helens at 9/4.

Backing Wigan to lose through a betting exchange will return you odds of 21/10, marginally worse than the 9/4 on offer for St. Helens to win. However, a bet on Wigan to lose will also collect if the result is a draw – you will only lose if Wigan actually wins outright. We’re tipping a St. Helens victory again.

The Wigan-St. Helens game is not the only tight game that is worth looking at through a betting exchange. The derby between Hull FC and Hull KR should be good to watch. Neither side are performing well in the league, but that doesn’t mean they won’t put up a spirited showing against each other. Hull FC are 4/6 favourites, mainly because of home ground advantage. Hull KR are at 17/10 with the draw at 20/1.

Given how close these teams are, betting on Hull FC to lose at 6/4 through a betting exchange appears to be the best bet. This could well be a close game – certainly one worth watching (SkySports HD1). Our tip – Hull KR to win.
