Blackburn are making all the right noises about becoming a top flight team now that they have new owners. Whether it’s all talk with little action will soon be known. They have thrown their hat into the ring to acquire the services of David Beckham while rumours have been rife for weeks about their interest in acquiring dual world champion Ronaldinho.

At the same time, the new management have thrown their complete support behind rookie manager Steve Kean, despite some uneven performances in recent weeks. So what are the odds of Beckham or Ronaldinho joining Blackburn? According to bookmakers, about 50/1 for each of them. I think both players would prefer to play for a high flying team rather than a middle order one. But then, you never know, Beckham at least does like a challenge and Ronaldinho does want to play in the EPL so anything can happen.

At this time of the year, player and manager moves are the centre of attention. There has been a lot of money on Ancelotti to throw in the towel as manager of Chelsea – they have certainly been under performing with only ten points coming from the last ten games – this has seen them slip from top of the table to fifth place. Roy Hodgson is the bookies’ favourite as Liverpool struggle to find any form.
